U.S. Army Major Malik Nidal Hasan was shot down after he fired two handguns killing 11 people and wounding 31 others in a shooting rampage on Thursday Nov. 5, 2009 at Fort Hood base in Texas. U.S. broadcast media said he was a psychiatrist who was facing an upcoming deployment to Iraq.
