HALIFAX - Police have charged an 18-year-old man in connection with a fatal stabbing in Halifax Thursday night - Halifax's first homicide of the year.
Halifax Regional Police officers responded to a report of a stabbing in the area of Alma Crescent, in Fairview, at 11:20 p.m.
Police found a 25-year-old man on the corner of Ashdale Crescent and Titus Street.
EHS pronounced him dead shortly after paramedics arrived on the scene.
Officers arrested a man and a woman at an Evans Avenue address at 2:00 a.m. and held them for questioning.
Police charged 18-year-old Aidan David Cromwell with second-degree murder and two counts of breach of recognizance. He'll remain in custody over the weekend and is due to appear in Halifax provincial court Monday to answer to the charges.
The woman was released Friday afternoon without charges.
The investigation is ongoing. The victim's identity has not yet been released.
