CHARLOTTETOWN - Charlottetown police say a man will face charges after a minivan crashed through three sets of doors at a city hospital.
The Dodge Caravan came to a stop just as it entered the main lobby of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital late Monday night.
Cpl. Dean Field says it's amazing no one was hurt.
A 63-year-old man from Johnstons River was arrested at the scene, but Field says it's too early to say what charges will be laid.
Hours later, the only signs of the accident were a few skid marks in front of the hospital and plywood covering the main doors.
The front entrance and lobby of the hospital were recently renovated as part of a multimillion-dollar expansion, and only opened in December.
Amanda Hamel, a spokeswoman for the hospital, says the front entrance is structurally sound.
